Child Aid’s model of international development centers on creating viable, sustainable organizations, which empower and preserve indigenous communities. We achieve this by partnering with local groups working to better the lives of children through access to education and health care.
These local leaders possess the vision and dedication, but lack access to financial and technical resources to fully realize their dream. Child Aid works hands on with our partners to build “social capital” by providing cash grants, medical equipment, hearing aids and batteries, clinic supplies, computers, organizational development, educational materials, software, skilled volunteers, staff training, consultants and tens of thousands of Spanish-language books, with the goal of creating wholly community-owned and operated organizations in Latin America.
It’s a long-term commitment between Child Aid and its partners, but the results are lasting and the impact, profound.
