Meal Coupon Program

Meal Coupons are an innovate way to address hunger and the hunger of isolation in our community.

What are Meal Coupons and Why Use them?

Each Meal Coupon costs $2.00.  They can be purchased either singly, or in unlimited numbers, and then given to hungry people for them to use to buy a meal and a drink in Sisters.  The purchase price goes directly to our non-profit organization, and helps defray our costs in providing meals to homeless and very low-income individuals and families.

For concerned individuals, the Café’s Meal Coupon Program provides an effective way to contribute directly to the welfare of the growing number of homeless and hungry people in our community.  The buyer may use the coupons in any of the following ways:

Consignment Program

History and Goals of the Meal Coupon Program

In the Spring of 1989, Sisters Of The Road launched our Meal Coupon Project. The project was developed with two goals in mind:

  1. As a fundraiser for the Café (to help supplement our costs in meal production) – and,
  2. As a way for citizens in our community to respond to panhandlers in a positive manner.

At Sisters Of The Road Café, we believe that all persons are sacred. Daily we disarm dehumanizing behavior with hospitality and through building authentic relationship with one another.  What do these words mean?
